Unfortunetly I too have fallen victim to the song... not that I'll go out and buy it, but you may find me singing it at a club, or doing some drunken karaoke

I'm guilty of liking some of Britney's songs too. I haven't heard Toxic yet, but I kind of like that "I'm a Slave for You" song... The lyrics are demeaning, but it's got a cool beat...

It just reminded me of American Bandstand - it's got a good beat and I can dance to it - but the feminist version of that - it;'s demeaning but has a good beat. Just struck me funny.

Carla - What you listen to is your business. I just hope that you keep her out of your magazine. And here is a quote from a recent concert review. Why the hell would anyone pay $75+ to see this?! >Actually, Britney rarely sang anything at all. Lip-syncing was the order of the night, and while she was adept at this skill, it contrasted sharply with the slower ballads where she managed to flex a couple vocal chords. Obviously Britney's tightly choreographed performances are not intended to be vocal showcases, but the miming was disappointing nonetheless. Her one attempt at the piano was also suspect as her hands were cleverly hidden.

Don't worry - Britney won't be getting a ROCKRGRL profile any time soon - you gotta play and write your own songs for that honor!! At least SING 'em for God's sake!!

I realize that featuring Laurie Geltman, Janet Robin, Tina Schlieske and Poe won't sell as many issues has Britney posing nearly nude on Rolling Stone. But believe me, there are plenty of folks who truly appreciate what you do with Rockrgrl! Thank you!

I would have probably been able to enjoy Toxic if I didn't know how much the music video for that cost. Well, that and the fact that she started out as pedophile fodder still rakes on my nerves. The corporate world scares me sometimes

okay she does dress sexually but who gets their t!ts out on letterman? she got married and divorced really quickly but who hasnt in this day and age?! i dont see the problem really all this groaning about pop is stupid why not groan about some thing intersting you say you dislike her but she is winning your ALL talking/writting about her arent you? this is what she wants i see big parallells with her and ms love bearing in mind she worked with producer linda perry who worked wth pop star p!nk u see its all the same really i used to love hole but in honesty i think she is doing what britney is doing in a way she crawled up to the top by shouting the loudest fair play to you courtney but its the standing on everyones back's to be seen is the bit i dont like.
And they royalty rate all the girls like you and they sell it out to the girls like you to incorporate little girls - awful ''hole''
this is what she said yes? do u think maybe she is sellin out little frances? and all of us who are buying her record by a pop producer? or does it not matter as it is courtney ?

Well, according to Billboard, there aren't that many people buying it, (in more ways than one) which I guess is why she's going on tour.

oh i didnt know that i dont live in USA i just think its curious the way on each of her albums there has been that really talented person lerking in the background kim, kat, kurt, billy now linda....can she not make it on her own?
i was also surprised her artwork for this album looks so much like 'romance is on the rise' by genevieve waite (1974) infact waite actually looks like a red haired courtney a little bit! hopefully thats the end of the pop debate for a while phew!
