Does anyone wish to help me start a new publishing venture? I figure we can make a TON of bucks! Since no one has ever told the REAL story of Women in the Music Business, I am going to do that. There are a lot of deserving female who deserve to have their stories told, like J-Lo, the members of Destiny's Child, Christina Aguilera and the greatest of them all, Britney Spears! After all, these women are influencing modern music. Much like their predecessors-- Abba, Tiffany, Paula Abdul and Debbie Gibson. Our tour report will come from the personal valet of the immortal Cher. Of course, I won't neglect all the up and coming musicians. I will consult the wise people at MTV and Clear Channel and get their advice on who will be the next music stars. People might think I am stealing this idea from Women Who Rock, but I'm not. They started the whole thing, of course. but I'm different.

I don't know if you're being extremely sarcastic or just plain idiotic [as you are on GTR chat!], but on that subject I would give a few bucks to find out exactly who were all the horrible chicks who thought they were actually doing some real singing in the 80s were when they found out it was actually all Sheryl Crow! She has NEVER said who she did that for & she said there were a lot! I'm pretty sure I could name a few!

This is hilarious. It was even funnier for a minute when I thought I was in the WWR forum. (No offense Carla. I just forget where I am sometimes.) But, that is my take on the WWR magazine. I did subscribe to them, as well as to Rocker Girl. But more for comparative purposes... I do like some of the poppy stuff, but I take it for what it's worth. I miss "real" music on the radio. I'm still trying to find some different artists that awe and move me... My you literally made me lol for a minute... Does anyone wish to help me start a new publishing venture? It HAS been done. Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, and Destiny's Child are all mentioned in She's A Rebel.
or did you only mean in magazine form?
If you mean magazine form, well, rollingstone DOES cover those women.

L isten to some of the underground talent here. These girls and their bands are overlooked, and each has it's own unique story. Those girls you listed are pretentious primadonnas imo, and your scope is obviously limited. BTW - a book about "women in metal" just came out through the Metal Maidens web site. I think Rita Van Porten had something to do with it anyway... learn something. ...now go back to entertaining yourself...
