Hello! I'm looking to getting into the music industry as a road/tour manager. I'm located in Seattle and I have years of experience in the travel industry and having worked at hotels, I have worked with multiple bands as well as theatre groups (CATS cast/crew, RENT cast/crew, etc.). Any tips or leads would be appreciated. Thanks!

the travel or hotel bullshit probably won't help much... Get in on a scene nag ask and nag and ask make yourself useful and start from the bottom if you have to like everyone else.

I figured that I would have to start from the bottom...I guess my question was more like who should I contact...bands, management companies, record companies, or all of the above?

Personally if I were in your position I'd look for a band I liked and thought could do well, arrange a small tour in the US for them and make some contacts with venues promoters and other useful people along the way so I could build a nice list of handy people I knew (that'll make you more attractive to everyone -shallow bastards)... Starting from there should give you a feel of how things work too .
