You're absolutely right Miss Gina, you are the greatest!! YOu will always be the greatest to me! It is an honor to hear from you ! [if it is really you!] But we must not forget the girls who made us in the 1st place!! [FYI: We tried putting them in semi- chronological order with certain exceptions!!]
Thanks Ladys for the comments , please keep them coming!
PS: You must hear Irlene Mandrell's version of the jazz classic "Caravan" [its short, sweet, does the job & wastes every drummer, Ladys & dudes in the world!! That's why she's No.1! [there are other reasons as well, but that's huge!] [there is video tape proof of this-performed on their variety show in the 80s]

You have got to be kidding right??? Unfair??? 1st of all 'my rankings' [if I must explain this!] are based on semi-chronological order!! As I stated on my original website. 'Semi' meaning they are NOT exactly in chronological order, but they are based on who started this 'movement' in the 1st place. Do you even know who the Number 1 drummer is??? Do you know what she did ? Do you want to find out?? Do you care?? Do you know who the others in this list are??? While they have certainly drawn new interest to the drums in the 90s [by placing a female in Motley Crue & playing Hip-hop], I'm certainly not going to place Miss Samantha or Miss Stephanie [no disrespect intended] over any of the Top 100 when they haven't made a massive impact in the world of recording or creative influence!!!! or certainly not because they're the 'flavor of the year' or month or whatever is [or which girls Modern Drummer decides to talk to for that particular issue, just because they realize they haven't any females in their issue for a while!!]!!! They have yet to prove to me that despite being fantastic drummers, they have the capability to influence a new generation of great musicians.
Miss Debbi may not be so 'great' but she certainly influenced a lot of ladies creatively by not only writing songs but singing & playing at the same time with an all-lady band!! & Miss Meg White WILL be in the new list because no matter how she plays & no matter who the hell likes her or not: 1- everyone in the world [including REM which somewhere is supposed to matter, not in my book!] seems to love them including critics, who hate everybody!! & 2- Meg is everywhere on TV, books radio, whatever, PLAYING A DRUM SET & there's some little out there watching this going 'oh, I'd like do that'!! & 3-She's not playing anything offensive & she has lots of clothes on while doing so!!
Whatever your taste is whether you are a musician or not, you'd better not forget where these ladies came from or why! That is what this list is for!!! The most influential women whether they made records or not, made some kind of impact & put a female in the public eye for a long long time without resorting to the stupidity today's girls have resorted to getting attention. Some more than others, that is who impacts this list!!

Thanks for the reply!! Just for the record, I've been updating my lists & i'd thought I'd already put Melissa York, but I'm sure I'll fix it if its not! I do know who Paula is as well, that's why I asked for suggestions because I know I grossly forgot some great ladies!! BUt I will still stick to the semi-chronological format as much as possible! Just so our future ladys DO NOT THINK!!! that these new ladys invented drums!! That should not happen. There is no reason for any young lady out there to look at Miss Meg & 'learn to play wrong' ! Believe me I can't wait when that young girl will be Number 1 on my list!! But she also can't listen to any dumb guy who say she sucks just because they think she does!!! Believe me there's no place for that especially in a young musicians life! THe fact that she's up there playing with class & somehow she has a great amount of respect is enough to show a young lady that they can do it, not exactly like that but in their own perfect way!! Which is the way it should be ! I've been playing for a long time & I've earned respect which is more than I can say for a few people! & that means more to me than almost anything! [Good music is the other!!] I also realize that no matter what those ladys in the Top 100 are pretty great drummers & have been around for a while & should not be forgotten! Of course Gina is the best! BUT!! She WAS NOT !!! the 1st!! & that's very important that the ladys out there know about the 60s ladies & the 70s ladies before they all kicked in the 80s!! Its really something to see & hear!! The 90s ladys, as much as their efforts have been ! Still have not come close to the POWER & DRIVE & class that the classic ladys had. Unfortunately I'm still waiting for that new Lady! Believe it or not I'm hoping that will be me [hee hee!]!. Miss Caroline is probably the only one who HAS come very close, she is tremendous, thats why she is way up there on the list. But she is still too new!!
Keep the classic ladys alive, don't forget them, listen to what they did, learn something! Believe me I would not have put these ladys there if they weren't talented at all.Playing level is important as well, it can't be all Donnas, although Miss C is fantastic as well! But its regular!
Don't stop playing or rockin' add some class to your drumming, it can be simple but it should be exciting as well!! Thats all I ask!! Please find out aboutthe rest of the Top 10 Ladys & you'll really hear some fantastic drumming!!!!! [are you from NY?? email me!!}
[& REMEMBER NONE of you ladys young or otherwise, should care about what these idiot dumb guys have to say about what they think about the new ladys of rock!! Screw them!! Its your opinion that matters!! Not Theirs!!]
Thanks! Rozzzzzzzzzzz R. [check my 1st site!] community.webtv.net/wizardroz/WIZARDofROZ

Awesome list. I like the way you put your statements so they were not rude, but still made your point. Thanks!

hey,i was disappointed when i checked out the top 200 drummers list and didn't see Lori Peters. She's the drummer in the awsome rock band Skillet. And when i say awsome, i mean AWSOME!She's really inspired me . She gave me the courage to go out there and show all the guys that girls can rock just as hard as they can.Skillet just came out with a new cd titled Collide.my favorite track is #2- Savior.(it is also a great music video to watch.)go check out their web site .One never knows ,Skillet may just be someones next favorite band www.skillet.org

I thought your list was great--thanks for putting it together.
The drummers I missed seeing on the list are: 1) Valerie Agnew from 7 Year Bitch. Even though the band broke up in the late 90s, Valerie was a kick-ass drummer who inspired me to play.
2) Dee Plakas from L7. Also an inspiration and a great drummer. L7 is currently on a "hiatus" but I expect they will be back.
3) Evelyn Glennie--amazing and very well known percussionist.
I also think that the order of your list is unimportant since it is difficult to compare the contributions of many of these drummers. Women can rock just as well as men, and all of the women on your list are worthy of being on it.
So are the above mentioned women, so somewhere between 201--300, please keep them in mind.
Thanks again!

Thanks for everyone's replys!! I hope everyone's looking at the complete list! It may be difficult to find but scroll all the way down to the bottom once you finish the 1st page & click 'next page' & you'll see the list keeps going & going.[do this on every page] This isn't the 1st time this has happened! {this is for the 1st site TOP 200 GREATEST!!]
Miss Batgirl: I believe your fellow favs are on my list! Miss Valerie is a hefty #62, Miss fantastic Evelyn is #101 [my mistake! but she's there!] & Miss Dee is #160. So I didn't forget them. The list just keeps on growing.
I will be adding the aforementioned 'new ladys' you all have introduced me to on the 201-300 list which I 've been working on for some time. But it looks like it may hit 400, which is cool! So keep it going ladys & remember the new ladys [semi-new 90s up!] will not be there! YET!! But they will be!
