heya!! i really would like to play the drums so i looked on the internet and found that here in ireland ther's a drum academy that teaches absolute beginners. it is quite expensive, 1 hour lessons for 12 weeks. i thought that because it teaches absolute beginners, that it mite be quite good. i was just wonderin wot peoples opinions about these kinda things were, wetha it would be a good thing to do because i dont have a drum kit or anything, im just lookin into it rite now but would like to learn the only thing i was worrying about was if i had these lessons but didnt really feel like i was gettin better or that it wouldnt be very easy to get into? i play the flute so it would be a big change, but im quite musical and im only 18, do you think i should go for it? i listen to loadsa punk rock and i always listen for the drum beats and stuf, anyway, would the lessons be a good thing for an absolute beginner like me even if they are expensive but in a very good drum school? thanx and sorry about the length! stefx

I was always against drum lessons until recently. I have been playing for a number of years in several bands and the better I get the more I realize that I don't know as much as I thought I did. Some people have natural rhythm and that's a good thing but at some point you may want to take lessons to brush up on your skills. The more you play the better you get.
Good luck!

i think that live lessions are great!!! but dvds and crap cant hear you and hear your skills and the best way is to listen to music and try that the next time you play just keep the song in your head
