For those of you in NYC, I just heard about this program that’s going on in April. It’s a five-day production class, each person gets their own personal studio set-up, etc. All the info is at www.RedBullMusicLabs.com, if you’re interested. Don't let the corporate name scare you, one of my friends was accepted to the Red Bull Music Academy over the summer, she got flown out to Rome, got to take classes from top djs, got a gig in the Rome, etc. They seem to be one of the few companies actually doing cool shit for electronic music...Anyways, just thought i'd let you all know. alex

for some reason noone is into electronic music here, it's a bit "narrow minded" if you ask me.

I agree! It is frustrating that we don't have more posts in here!
I know that all the female musicians out there aren't just slinging guitars and banging drums! Keyboardists, synthesists, computer-music buffs, UNITE!! Let's get some action in here!!

I think a record pool is for DJ's. If it's what I'm thinking of, it's where DJ's have access to resources to look for music.
It's something you can start in your own town. Not sure if that's what bigpoppa was referring to though.

There are so many record pools around the country that I would not suggest starting one since the entire music industry has been cutting back on the amount of promos serviced and any more they only deal with people they've dealt with for years.
